Leeds School Uniform Exchange
Leeds School Uniform Exchange was established in June 2020. Now there are 279 exchange opportunities city-wide with almost 94% of schools in Leeds covered by an exchange. The exchanges are at schools, online (mostly via Facebook pages run by parents) or based at community groups. Great quality, second hand school uniform is available throughout Leeds for free. Please find any information on the Leeds School Uniform Exchange website link.If you have spare uniform and/or lost property to donate, please also get in touch.Leeds School Uniform exchange has two main objectives: environmental and financial. By opening up a city wide sharing infrastructure it encourages a sharing economy, cutting down the demand for new and turning a potential waste stream into a resource. And, of particular importance now at a time of rising inflation, helping struggling families by removing the huge financial burden of school uniform. It’s not possible to measure all the exchanging that happens across the city but during last summer holidays there were 44 pop-up events which distributed over 8,000 items of uniform saving families over £45,000, 1,600kg of textile waste and 28,000kg of Co2e.Updates about all the summer exchanges can be found on the dedicated website and anyone can join the very active Facebook group which has over 2.5k active users.
