Year 4 Visits and Experiences
Murton Park
In the summer term year 4 visit Murton Park to be a Roman soldier for the day. This is a fun packed day learning what life would be like living in a Roman village. The day includes making clay pots, writing letters and even how to throw a spear at an enemy, roman style!
Darley, North Yorkshire
In Autumn 2, year 4’s geography topic is rivers, so we hop on the minibuses and head out to the picturesque village of Darley in Nidderdale, North Yorkshire. We use Ordnance Survey maps to track the river Nidd and plot our route of transport. This trip is a fantastic way to bring the topic to life.
Nell Bank
Year 4 is also the start of your child’s residentials at Castleton. During the Easter Holidays we go to Nell Bank for a two-night residential. It is the perfect place to build your child’s independence and resilience. There are lots of activities that will challenge their adventurous side such as cycling, archery, climbing and bushcraft. There are also activities like animal care and the exploring the country trail around the area. This experience at Nell Bank sets them up perfectly for their future residentials in year 5 and 6.
