Leeds and Our European Neighbours
Overview
In this unit, children will compare their home city of Leeds and the European city of Barcelona. They will look at the human features of Leeds City Centre that are represented by Ordinance Survey symbols. The children will undertake field work in Leeds city centre using maps to navigate their way around the city to identify local landmarks and features using ordnance survey symbols. Children will examine distinctive features of Leeds City Centre and compare these to the features of Barcelona as well as comparing the cities climates, tourists and physical feature such as the River Besos and the River Aire.
